In Recovery...

Well Camp Tracey ended almost before it started.  The tonsil recovery did not go
smoothly and so I needed to pick Ali up at camp -half-way through- north - 4 hours away!

She was happy to be home and then we picked up sister on the weekend.  Now she is recovering from wisdom teeth surgery she had this morning.

Instead of camp tracey - it's nurse tracey ...

That's what I'm here for!  Stay tuned for Back to School for Tracey ...

Secrets ...

I have a dirty little secret.  One that weighs on me far too many times.  I am revealing it now.  The boulevard of unfinished projects.  Some - trying something new.  Some - require a button or a pin. Others - purchased kits never to be tackled.  Oh, how I hate this!  I laid out some of them here.  Yes, there are others.  Oh the shame!

Here we have a cable-knit wrap for around my neck. It just requires two buttons.  I did it two years ago!  Oh and look - a felted sweater I know is going to make a great fall purse (if I could only find leather handles that match).  And another purse form I knit out of thick cotton.  It needs handles as well.

Here we have a collection of fabric and felt to be made into rings.  It was a great idea...last year!

This one is shameful.  I thought I could teach myself to crochet and make a cute bag from a kit.  Nope.  And my bowl of felted balls - they were to be made into a necklace ...

Speaking of necklaces.  Here is a bowl of very expensive stones that I made into a long chain a few years back.  The chain broke but it has been on my to-do craft list for a couple of years now.  Just beside that two cute linen pouches I made up - looking for the snap frames to be glued on!

Yes ... I admit it - sometimes I move onto another project before I finish the current one. I must get to these soon - maybe the shame of posting these will get me going.

I can only hope ...

Waves of Craftiness

I don't know about you but I find craftiness, specifically when it pertains to home decorating, seems to come in waves.  Both of the following projects were prompted by room makeovers.  Surprise makeovers actually.  Both at different times when the girls were away at camp.  This first project was inspired by a combination of Lori Marie's fabric silhouette and Anna Maria Horner's painted silhouette

Ali and I did these together and it makes me smile every time I walk by.

This project was inspired by the pbteen version.  We had the canvas squares and they originally spelled out Helana's name but she was too old for that.  So instead I made tiles, covered in fabric for pouches, covered in magnetic paint for posting ticket stubs etc, and just simply covered in fabric for pinning up stuff.

It has become a way for Helana to express her latest interests.  Awhile ago it was dresses for grad now it is awaiting the new school year.  This square has various collectibles including a sweet picture of a good friend from the "early" days.

I looked at these projects with a fresh eye,  as I scrubbed and organized their rooms for new books and uniforms, while the girls are away at camp.

Okay now on to my own craftiness.  What can I make for my room...

Good Golly Miss Molly

Little Miss Molly has been for sale in my etsy shop.  Packed away safe, I kind of forgot about her.  She really is cute and today I packed her up for her new home in Australia.  I think she will like it there.

It prompted me to complete a mini prize ribbon as an extra.  I mean Australia.  You deserve a prize if you want to buy a little 'ol monkey from Canada.

I'm liking the mini ribbon.  I might make some for the shop next week. The girls are at camp!
What to do ...

Mini Prize Ribbons

I have been locked up here in one room pretty much.  Fetching water, mashed potato and apple sauce -  because of this.  I have been trying come up with an interesting way to introduce my business card to someone.  Make it fun, crafty and different.  I am trying out a mini version of my prize ribbon.  Keep you posted :)

Inspiration Desk

We (well Ali) have had tonsil surgery 24 hours ago.  That means someone needs me nearby for water, meds and companionship.  I decided to move my computer to the main floor.  I added some of my desktop inspiration and then brought in my craft inspiration.  It is usually downstairs in the craft room but I like it here right now.  It reminds me of my summer bucket list and keeps me on my crafty to do's path while maintaining that close-by feeling.

I knit this bowl from Leigh Radford's book. Instructions found here at Design*Sponge.
I have filled it with felted balls I have purchased, made from felt and knit then felted.  I love that bowl!

Here are two projects.  One, again, from Leigh Radford, adapted from the pattern found here.  And here is a bucket list mason jar painted my favorite blue.  Filled with happytape.

This linen rose in progress is adapted from a paper pattern I used for a lantern I made in Amy Power's latest on-line magazine.  Check it out here.  It is absolutely gorgeous!  The magazine I mean!

I need to put myself on stand-by at the moment.  Poor thing.  The pain seems to be overwhelming.  Today is supposed to be the worst.   So I better move from here to the couch... for now...
